Joseph Maloney went to work for the Panhandle Lumber Company at Spirit Lake, ID in 1915. He later served as superintendent. In 1936 he supervised a Civilian Conservation Corps camp at McGee Ranger Station, ID. He became district manager of the Spokane office of the War Manpower Commission in 1943, and manager of the Spokane office of the Washington State Tax Commission in 1945.
